Job Title: NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer
Location: Onsite, Calgary, Alberta
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Production Manager, Controlled Goods
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced NPI Engineer to manage the introduction of new products into our aerospace manufacturing environment. This role will focus on overseeing all phases of the NPI process, from concept to production, ensuring a seamless transition while meeting quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution: Develop and execute project plans for new product launches, coordinating resources, and managing timelines.
- Process Development: Define and document manufacturing processes, including process flows, work instructions, and quality controls.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure product manufacturability and adherence to requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the NPI process and develop mitigation plans to ensure smooth implementation.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline NPI processes, reduce lead times, and improve product quality.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation for NPI projects and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in NPI engineering, ideally in the aerospace or a related industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of project management principles and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with design and production tools (e.g., CAD software, ERP systems).
- Understanding of quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Hiring Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check suitable for employment with Controlled Goods
- May be required to submit for other background checks including: credit, criminal, or other
