Materials Coordinator

Position Overview

The Materials Coordinator is accountable for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility. This role will serve to maximize space utilization as defined by operating KOIs and monitor inventory levels and product movement. This role is required to cross train on kitting procedures as well as the receiving department for busy periods and vacation coverage.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain and review efficient and accurate inventory/warehouse control procedures, consistent with company policy and procedure
  • Liaise between production, inventory, shipping/receiving and the sales team on all materials movement
  • Manage cable pulls/cable transfers from other warehouse locations
  • Provide accurate and timely order entry for operations
  • Initiate and maintain an efficient cycle count strategy
  • Maintain accurate records of all audits, counts, and adjustments
  • Make system adjustments as required and analyze results of counts to initiate permanent corrective actions
  • Review orders lead time is according to standards set up in MRO OP#015
  • Review drawing BOM and AddOn BOM matches. Report any discrepancies to the sales team
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to sales team regarding confirmation dates, material shortages, and drawing issues
  • Support product return process through physical identification and segregation of product
  • Responsible for running of reports, reconciliation of final count variances, and all other reconciliation activities
  • Process accurate perpetual inventory adjustments to match physical inventory movement, when necessary
  • Receiving duties include: Unpacking and examining incoming shipments; rejecting damaged items; recording shortages; corresponding with shipper to rectify damages and shortages; routing items to departments. Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move,conveyor hoist shipments from receiving platform or area to storage work area and to load equipment

Education and Certifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Experience in manufacturing/production and/or inventory sector is preferred
  • Forklift Operator Certification is required
