Position Overview

The Inside Sales Support position provides direct support to management and to our senior sales staff in the ongoing development of existing and prospective business. This includes customer support, order processing, assisting with the development of quotes, etc.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with quoting order requests under the guidance of management and our senior sales staff members

  • Review Terms and Conditions and contracts from the customer, obtaining approval from Management as required

  • Maintain and expand the company’s database

  • Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions

  • Follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail

  • Ensure new customer data and update changes to existing accounts are in the database

  • Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date contact names of customers supported

  • Liaising between customers and the company for up-to-date status of service, pricing, and new product release launches

  • Stay up to date on MRO’s capabilities and product offerings and be able to offer these to the customer

  • Conduct business in a professional and industry acceptable ethical manner at all times

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and be sensitive to their needs

  • Consider all aspects of selling including vendor relationships, profit and loss concepts, long and short term goals of the company

  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Write routine reports and correspondence

  • Communicate effectively to customers and employees

  • Assess and respond to customer needs

  • Perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks

  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form

  • Use sound judgment, listening, and problem-solving skills to analyze customer problems and to recommend the proper course of action

  • Product and application knowledge essential

  • PC proficiency for data entry and utilization of applications

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary and/or technical school education is highly desirable with a minimum of one year experience in the electronics industry and/or Oil & Gas would be considered an asset

  • Minimum 2 years sales and customer service experience preferred
