Position Overview
This position oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency; ensures the quality team and other departments work together cohesively and is responsible for the development of tools and equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. This position also serves as support to our CAD team and will be required to cross-train and create/review drawings as necessary.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee MRO’s Quality Management system
  • Review product designs for manufacturability or completeness
  • Ensure that a continuous improvement culture is in place to identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction through assembly process modification
  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures
  • Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times
  • Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process
  • Create cable assembly drawings to support CAD Operator as necessary
  • Train, motivate, coach, and correct employees to ensure that standards are met
  • Formulate strategies to increase productivity
  • Prepare reports concerning product or process non-conformance, as well as daily production quality, quality trends and root cause analysis reports
  • Determine, negotiate and agree on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
  • Assess customer requirements and ensure that these are met
  • Specifying quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers
  • Working with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures
  • Writing management and technical reports
  • Determine training needs
  • Direct quality and engineering objectives to maximize profitability
  • Act as link between Suppliers, Engineering and Manufacturing team when new products are released
  • Support the team during new design reviews by representing manufacturing and suppliers
  • Monitor performance and provide support to the CAD, Quality and NPI team

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is highly desirable with 5+ years of experience with electrical and/or electronic disciplines.
  • IPC Training Certification (CIT) with 5+ years experience training IPC Standards

Qualification Requirements:

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Ability to use influence to drive change without formal authority
  • Electrical/electronics technical knowledge and experience – 5 years
  • Ability to use design applications (AutoCAD), read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and specs
  • Good balance of theoretical and practical experience and “hands-on” in a manufacturing and production environment
  • Experience using quality test equipment
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Great time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines

Hours:

Mon – Fri

AM Shift: 8:00-4:30pm
