Job Title: NPI Technician
Location: On-site, Calgary, Alberta
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports to: NPI Engineer
Job Summary
The NPI Technician plays a key role in the development and implementation of new products, ensuring a seamless transition from design to production. This position involves hands-on work in testing, prototyping, and supporting the manufacturing team to meet quality and production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prototype Support: Assemble and test prototypes to verify performance and manufacturability.
- Process Development: Assist in defining and implementing manufacturing processes for new products.
- Quality Assurance: Perform inspections and tests to ensure compliance with engineering and production standards.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues during the NPI phase.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of tests, processes, and improvements to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production staff, and quality teams to align on production goals and supportive client service.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience: ideally, 2+ years in a manufacturing or product development environment. Experience in NPI or aerospace manufacturing is an asset.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., AS9100D, ISO 9001).
- Basic knowledge of CAD software and technical drawings.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Must be able to work well under pressure, sometimes with multiple projects
- Hand Tool use/experience
- Ability to work collaboratively and in focused individual settings
