RG58 POLY / COAX, BRAID SHIELD, GREEN POLYURETHANE JACKET

Functionally equivalent to RG58A but with a polyurethane jacket.

This cable is usable anywhere a medium-sized flexible coax is needed such as GPS, WLAN, or mobile antennas, or any application that requires a low loss RF cable that is easily routed.

The center conductor is stranded tinned copper of 21AWG, the dielectric polyethylene, the shield is tinned copper braid, and the jacket is matte green polyurethane of 4.95 mm (.195 inches) OD. This polyurethane jacket features a wide operating temperature range (-40c to +85c) and great cold weather flexibility. Polyurethane is waterproof as well as oil resistant, chemical resistant, UV resistant, and salt spray resistant.

It’s mechanically very tough, difficult to cut or tear. Its excellent memory makes it ideal for retractile cords.

When a cable is needed in situations like outdoor oil field operation polyurethane should be on the shortlist. The impedance is 50 ohms, and capacitance of 28.5 pf/ft.
